Over a 100 trees and a wild life pond  are now becoming established and attracting animals, birds and insects etc along with paths through our field.

Welcome to Hill Top Farm and Hill Top Barn, the perfect self-catering Cumbria holiday cottage. Situated in the Lake District, our cottage / farmhouse provides stunning views over the Levens Estuary and is a great country getaway.

This traditional Lake District holiday cottage, newly refurbished attached barn and games room in a detached barn is set in approximately two acres of land and can accommodate up to sixteen people. Ideal for a relaxing holiday or short break, as well as for those seeking an activity holiday with acres of countryside right on your doorstep for walking and cycling.

The farmhouse

Built in the 1700s, the farmhouse provides a high standard of accommodation. Full of individual character, the cottage features exposed beams, old pine doors, open fires and wood burning stoves. Read more about the cottage and barn in our accommodation section.

Location

Benefiting from a rural location within the picturesque Lake District National Park, there’s plenty of local facilities with the Farm and Barn being less than a mile from local shops, pubs and places to eat. And we’re just five miles from Coniston Water, and six miles from Windemere.

Recent and new improvements

Recent changes in the house include; a new Frame TV in the snug a Frame TV with Sonos Home Cinema sound in the lounge and a new staircase with oak rails and lobby in the attic.

New improvements areas outside include the Games Loft, roof insulation, and a new floor.  Over the last year we have been trialing the renting of a hot tub under the new veranda which has been very successful. However the demand is much higher than the supply, so from late Autumn we have built a platform and a new elevated Gazebo (8m x 4m) with lights and audio, and a large new Hot Tub in the rear garden overlooking the countryside. To ensure high quality health safety standards, we will use a hot tub service expert that empties, cleans, refills each change and tests the water twice a week.
